The Easter Pastel Drop

Spring has sprung!

So we thought it would be appropriate to kick things off with a Pretty in Pink — Pastel Drop.

Peach, pink, and periwinkle are colors often connected to Easter, and its timing is eerily close to our release. But we’re new here, and trying to tie Christ’s betrayal, death, resurrection, ascension to heaven, and promised return to a used lavender sweatshirt strikes me as a bit flippant.

Pastels are also tied to spring flowers and new beginnings. The blooming petals symbolize renewal from winter’s death, the world’s rebirth, and the cycles of life.

Perhaps this pastel release represents the feminine, which is physically true. I think most, if not all, the tops we were able to source for this release were specifically sized for women.

But that’s just happenstance. As a matter of fact, pink was considered a masculine color before the 1950s, so I invite some of you more petite Christian men to pick a pink shirt for yourself and reclaim the color.

Truly, when you look at these blushes and pale yellows, we invite you to think about worshiping Christ as a child.

Yes, in this drop, the pastels are for the children. Perhaps these simple garments can be a reminder to approach God with the trust, wonder, and humility of a four-year-old.

Sadly, we’ve become jaded know-it-alls, clutching our smartphones. Amateur experts, with the “right” answer just a Google search away. We know everything except what’s in our hearts.

If you’re here shopping, chances are you’re old enough to know this world will break your heart.

But I’m here to remind you: Jesus Christ will make you whole. And this world? It’s God’s creation, so delight in it.

Go back to being a kid. Shake the dogmas we all cling to. Pray, read the Bible for the first time all over again. Wonder at the Gospel. Repent from sin. And praise God for giving you the faith you have today.
